Rocking Stool:
Object in Motion

Spring 2023

This project started from a curiosity in steam bending wood. Initially, I asked myself, "What is unique to steam bending wood, and what constraints does it present?" What started as a focus on process evolved into an exploration into animacy, particularly how steaming frees movement in wood, and what this could mean for people and their environment. This stool is an prototype of "steaming" your sitting environment.
